Accomplishments

  • 2009 Annual Donation Annual Donation from membership dues to 82nd Airborne Division Memorial Museum and the Educational Fund amounted to $5,485.80 each.

  • Provides funds for stained glass windows in the Division Chapel honoring Troopers of various conflicts who made the supreme sacrifice.
  • Provide funds for holiday celebrations for deployed troopers.
  • Present Association watches, life memberships and trip to national convention to NCO and Trooper of the Year.
  • Support Division by helping obtain items for which no official funds are available such as:

  • 1948 - Was instrumental in helping the 82nd get back the distinctive jump boots, cap patch and Airborne tab.
  • 1980 - Helped get the Maroon Beret adopted as official headgear.
  • 1992 - During Desert Storm, coordinated corporate and personal contributions amounting to $4 million in goods and services and $17,000 cash to help family members of deployed soldiers.
  • 1994 - Following an accident at Pope AFB, Association provided $5,000 for emergency use. Chapters in San Antonio, Texas and Hampton Roads, Virginia provided much needed support for hospitalized soldiers and their families.
  • 2009 - Hosted 42 Wounded Warrior's and their families sponsored by voluntary 82nd Association Chapters at the 63rd Annual Convention.
  • 2010 - Hosted 47 Wounded Warriors and their families sponsored by voluntary 82d Association Chapters at the 64th Annual Convention.
  • 2002/2003/2004/2005/2006/2007/2008/2009/2010
       Provided “goodies” for the troopers deployed to protect our nation in          Afghanistan and Iraq. Additionally, chapters attended ceremonies for          our troopers Killed in Action throughout the U.S.A. Furthermore,    
       provided goodies and visits to our Wounded Warrriors in Walter Reed          Army Medical Center (Washington D.C.) and Brooke Medical Center           (San Antonio, TX). Currently raising funds for the new Division Chapel         Stained Glass Window.
  • National Airborne Day - Through the efforts of Association members across the country for the past four years, the U.S. Senate, as well as many states and municipalities, have recognized August 16 as National Airborne Day.
